Genius Ideas & Classic Components: Campag MTB
Written: August 27, 2012featured, Genius Ideas & Classic Components
Yup, Campag MTB. They really did it, and it was LUSH:
It can be seen beautifully presented in all its glory on this Yeti Ultimate on Cycle EXIF (which has also previously featured here as a Bike Friday).
If they did an MTB groupset again now I doubt they’d be taken seriously! Perhaps they should launch one under the Fulcrum brand?…

I have to disagree Mr Tart. Even at the time, the Campy MTB stuff was somewhat out of touch. If I recall, it was very shiny (not a bad thing) terribly expensive (but without the performance) and, worst of all, quite large.
Ha! I clearly remember it with slightly rose-tinted specs!
I remember US mag MountainBike Action at the time telling us that Campag-sponsored pro riders in the States ran Shimano rear mechs with the logos polished off so they resembled the sponsor's product – but actually worked!
Hmmm I recall that we all wanted it to be good but it was unusable crap. Similar to sun tour but slightly worse.
