I ride my bike almost daily and arrive at my component choices through doing so - I don't sit on my arse behind a computer all day mulling over what I might do next and then making rash decisions, irrespective of whether that's what you believe.

I don't know where your judgement came from, but assumption is the mother of all f?&k ups, and is plain rude - particularly when you don't know me from Adam.

Now, where do I collect my rainbow jersey?...

I fitted the Vamoots RSL with my Lightweight tubs last weekend. You know Rich I bought the tubs in November last year and I have been putting off riding them ever since. Well I broke the camels back last week, fitted those Edge bars you sold me, the Moots stem that jonjones sold me and the Lightweights and rode on Saturday. Oh.My.God !! I am now completely sold and will never want to ride anything else ever again. And as for hot looks. Well you decide...

Interesting that none of your other wheels have felt as good as your Lightweight tubs. I just can't justify another set of LWs though, even if they were what I wanted I doubt I could justify the spend.

Were your Enve 6.7s 'off the shelf', or specifically built for you? I would be offsetting the 'boom' you're getting as I'd go for the 3.4s - my Mad Fibers are the same profile (near as damn it) as the 6.7s so it'd be pointless going for those.

It'd be interesting to compare my Mad Fibers to a set of LW tubs - I have to say I don't think there'd be much in it. Despite my previous thoughts, having run them again this week they feel very much like my LWs except that the tubular tyre obviously rolls smoother.

I have spoken with you lots Rich anout this... When I first saw your bikes specs oming together I always saw your Lightweight clinchers as a compromise from the pure performance of a tubular and find it somewhat reassuring that you've now made the switch to ride tubulars.

Having the same Black edition Lightweights in tubular with Continental Competition tyres has seen me clock 4500km without a single flat, the wheels are sensational.

I adopted the attitude that they were made for riding and as much as they were objet d'art, they were also a premium cycling product - made to ride. I had a scare on them (broken clavicle) but it hasn't stopped me from enjoying them.

The wheels are part of an expensive package (for both you and I) and if I stressed about wheels, I'd stress about the frame and group set... Thats not what my version of cycling is about. (It's about riding yourself into the ground, in as much style as possible!)

I got a set of Enve 45 clinchers because I was doing a large multiday bike ride Ro a time schedule and I didn't want to be "that bloke" who held everyone up when there was a flat and not knowing the roads, I didn't want to have to attack unknown descents on freshly stuck tubulars... People get excited when they see my Enves.

"What do they ride like!?!" they say...

I hate sounding like a flog but it's true "They are really nice, but nothing like the ride of my Lightweights"

I got the Smart 6.7s as well, they ride sensational. Look tough and people always ask - "How do they ride!?!"

I say they are fantastic! Awesome in a cross wind, really roll like a freight train once they are up and going, but they boom over bumps (even with 25mm tyres) and they're nothing like my Lightweights...

I knew this was coming Rich, the seed was planted very shortly after you took delivery of the Ambrosio Nemesis handbuilts from Strada.

I'm in the same predicament as you, but maybe in the reverse. Completed a hilly (2,500m) 180km yesterday on my Enve 45 clinchers and fell in love with them again, but still pining for the Enve 6.7 tubulars, even though the clincher version has just been released I just want to run tubulars and keep a set of clinchers for the odd time I want to ride them, i.e. Probably very rarely.

It's tough cos yesterday when other cyclists were puncturing left and right of me I seemed to be impervious to the recent rainfall which was causing everybody else's downfall, it feels like maybe I'm going to jinx things but placing all my trust in the tubular tyres when clinchers have been good to me.

Decisions decisions, but when you get the itch you have to go with your heart. I don't think you will miss your Lightweights anymore than I will miss selling my Enve 45's, I know in both cases the buyers will be getting a sweet set of hoops which spread a grin from ear to ear.

That's a beauty. I know what you mean about the fork logo, but I think it's OK because the prominent wheel graphics set it off.
